Lace up those hiking boots, grab your hiking poles! CAHED will be hosting another scenic 13er hike on Friday, July 21st. This year's hike is an out and back hike to Pettingell Peak at 13,559', the highest challenge to date! A moderate half-day Class 1 & 2 hike, mostly on trail, 8.4 miles round trip with 3,250 of vertical.
This year we will be accompanied by special guest Sara Schulting-Kranz; author of Walk Through This: Harness the Healing Power of Nature and Travel the Road to Forgiveness. Sara is a lover of the wild(erness), a trauma survivor, professional life and leadership coach, motivational speaker, and certified wilderness guide. She specializes in helping those who have suffered hardship or trauma to find forgiveness and strength in their lives through one- on- one coaching and guided wilderness retreats in locations such as the Grand Canyon and the Pacific Rim.
PLEASE NOTE this hike is high altitude, alpine tundra, above tree line, and over rocky terrain. Please bring adequate footwear, be prepared for chilly weather, bring plenty of water/snacks, and go at your own pace! We anticipate the hike to take 4-5 hours but we’ll be in no hurry and mindful of the weather. CAHED will be doing another hike this fall that will be more casual/social.
