CAHED’s Sustainability Committee invites you to meet with representatives from the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) to discuss updates to their Building Performance Standards (BPS) program. Deadlines for interim compliance targets are currently set for the end of 2025.

This meeting stems from a request from facilities staff to learn more about the evolving BPS program and to network with sustainability champions within other healthcare organizations throughout the state. The desired outcomes from this meeting include:

Learn about updates to the State’s BPS program and Technical Guide
Understand what compliance requirements and documentation are due in 2025
Take advantage of an opportunity to give direct feedback to the CEO on the successes, challenges and resources needed as you work towards building performance compliance for your healthcare facilities
Connect with other healthcare sustainability champions and the CEO resources

The meeting will be hosted in the Mt. Harvard conference room on the second floor of the Children’s Hospital – Anschutz campus in Aurora. We encourage as many as possible to attend in person to take advantage of networking opportunities.

10 am. Intro and CAHED Announcements (15 min)
10:15 am. State Energy Office presentation (45 min)
11:00 am. Open Discussion between the State and Healthcare Sustainability Professionals about 2025 Compliance Requirements and Challenges (30 – 45 min)
11:45 am. Lunch and Networking. (45 min)
12:30 pm. Dismiss meeting. Lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Policy background and rules for public buildings
Discussion on building definitions and categories
Benchmarking/pathway selection – What actions are required for owners from March 1st to June 1st this year?
Review of important 2025 BPS Deadlines
Updates on BPS Technical Guidance documents
Direction on Target -Timeline adjustment procedures
Resources available to owners for compliance
Lunch is provided for in-person guests. Virtual call should conclude around noon.
